Misery

Misery – Intervención Urbana #3: en una sociedad capitalista que se autoafirma como la mejor sociedad posible surgida del progreso humano, ¿Cuál es el producto que el mundo produce en cantidades más que ingentes? Si aceptamos los datos, no nos queda más remedio que contestar que el producto estrella mundial es: la miseria. 

Pero, la miseria que entiende la sociedad, ¿es sólo material?; o, acaso, ¿entendemos también conceptos como miseria moral e intelectual? Porque, ¿qué es la miseria? 

iKartoon se transforma en diferentes personajes por todos conocidos que llaman nuestra atención dada la situación en la que han sido fotografiados; y, a través de una simple pregunta: ¿Qué es la miseria? Nos fuerza a reflexionar sobre los reflejos de la misma y sus manifestaciones en nuestra sociedad. Colectivo Komite se ha embarcado en la búsqueda de iKartoon para documentar gráficamente y acercarnos el resultado de la intervención urbana de este personaje tan peculiar. 

Misery – Urban Intervention #3: in a capitalist society that asserts itself as the best kind of possible society coming out of human progress, which is the good that the world produce in more quantity? If we accept the current data, we have no remedy but to answer that the star product of our system is: misery.

But, the misery as we know it, is just material? Or, maybe, it is also a moral and intellectual misery? Because, what’s misery?

iKartoon turns into different characters well known for all of us and who have been photographed in a way as to attract our attention, and, through a simple question: What’s misery? Force us to think about its reflections and manifestations in our society.

Collective Komite has embarked itself in the searching of iKartoon to photographically document and get us closer the result of the urban intervention of such a peculiar character.

Sobre iKartoon

El personaje conocido como iKartoon es la expresión física del desencanto y desconcierto de gran parte de la sociedad que se siente perpleja ante la capitalización total del mundo y la capitulación final de la sociedad ante el poder. 

iKartoon no posee absolutamente nada, de tal forma que, sin posesiones materiales a través de las cuales valorar y medir su presencia en este mundo, ha dejado, precisamente, de tener presencia, de tener un rostro visible y específico. Sin embargo, esa condición le ofrece la capacidad de convertirse en cualquier persona que él quiera a voluntad, sin casi proponérselo, como si fuera el reverso mágico de la invisibilidad. Eso abre infinitas posibilidades; tantas, que iKartoon decidió que ya era hora de desarrollar ese potencial, y se decantó por hacerlo en el mundo del arte y en la que ella entendió como su forma más pura, aquella que nace desde y se desarrolla por entero con el cuerpo humano: la performance.

De todo aquello nació el proyecto Misery, del que Colectivo Komite no sólo ha sido testigo, sino que ha atestiguado y documentado.

The character known as iKartoon it’s nothing more than the physical expression of the disappointment and confusion of the society; people who, like you and me, are puzzled by the total capitalization of the world and the final capitulation of society to the institutionalized power. 

iKartoon owns absolutely nothing, so that, without material possessions through which value and measure their presence in this world, has lost a physical presence, she does not have a visible and specific face anymore. However, that condition offers her the ability to become anyone he wants at will, almost unwittingly, as the magic reverse of invisibility, which opens endless possibilities, especially in fields such as art, and that is what we made her realize. Finally, iKartoon decided that it was the time to develop that potential, opting for what she understood as the purest form of art, one that arises from and is entirely developed by the human body: the performance.

From all that, the Misery project was born, project of which Collective Komite has not only being witness, but have backed it up and documented it.
