Acerca de "(Not even) Entropy" / About "(Not even) Entropy"

La entropía, y su teoría de la flecha del tiempo, nos dice que no hay un pasado, presente o futuro como tales; si no, una línea discontinua que lleva del orden en el que surgen las cosas hasta el caos en el que se diluyen, siendo en el periodo intermedio entre ambos donde se produce lo que conocemos como vida.

Por ejemplo, en el momento en el que nace el Sol como estrella, comienza a su vez su proceso de combustión y muerte. Proceso que permite las condiciones necesarias que hacen posible la vida en la tierra.

El tiempo “humano” no difiere básicamente del tiempo “astronómico”, pero el ser humano se empeña en dividirlo y en “dominar” cada periodo como pasado, presente y futuro. Sin embargo, posiblemente la flecha del tiempo nos lleva irremediablemente al caos, ya sea como seres individuales, como sociedad o como especie. Quizás, deberíamos aceptarlo y comprender que el pasado crea la materia necesaria para la vida presente, y aprender de una vez por todas esos mecanismos para hacer, no sólo más habitable el presente (eliminando conflictos, guerras, desigualdades, injusticias…), también para dirigirnos hacia un caos lo más ordenado posible.

Sin embargo, creo que a estas alturas de la vida pensar que el ser humano puede ser lo suficientemente inteligente para comprender, asimilar y - librándose de su innata capacidad para el egoísmo, la avaricia y una increíble capacidad de hacer daño - asumir la tarea de acercarse hasta el caos de manera ordenada, es, poco menos que una utopía.

Y es que Leonard Cohen ya nos avisó, allá por 1992, como sería el futuro.

Entropy, and its theory of the arrow of time, says that there is no past, present or future as such; but, a discontinues line leading from the order in which things are created until the chaos in which they disappeared instead, taking place in between both order and chaos what we know as life.

For example, in the time when the sun rises as a star, it also begins the combustion process and death. Process that allows the necessary conditions for making life as we know it possible on earth.

The "human" time does not differ basically from the "astronomical" time, but man is determined to divide it and "dominate" each time as past, present and future. However, and maybe, the arrow of time inevitably leads us to chaos, either as individuals, as society or as species. Perhaps we should accept it and understand that the past creates the necessary matter for the present life, and learn, once and for all, the mechanisms to not only make more “human” our present (getting red of conflicts, wars, inequalities, injustices ...), but also to head for a chaos as orderly as possible.

However, at this stage of my life, I can not think of man as a smart enough creature able to understand, assimilate and - getting rid of their innate capacity for selfishness, greed and an amazing ability to do harm - assume the task of approaching to the orderly chaos; and, probably, entropy would be nothing more than a utopia.

In any case, Leonard Cohen did warn us, back in 1992, how the future would look like.
