Durante el pasado mes de noviembre tuve la oportunidad de asistir y colaborar con la última edición del BAT, un siempre más que interesante proyecto cultural de investigación colectiva y educación sobre urbanismo e innovación social, organizado por Zaramari. Una edición que, bajo el título de Invisibles, y en sus propias palabras: “propone investigar sobre la ciudad invisible e invisibilizada […] sobre realidades que existen pero pasan desapercibidas y no se reconocen como parte sustancial del rico y complejo ecosistema urbano”
During last November, I had the chance
to assist and collaborate with the BAT 2014, an always more than interesting
cultural project of collective researching and education on urbanism and social
innovation, organized by Zaramari. This edition, under the title: Invisibles,
in their own words: “intends to investigate
the invisible and excluded city […] looking into existing realities that go
undetected and are not recognised as essential parts of a rich and complex
urban ecosystem”
Imágenes pertenecientes a
series como “Colmenas” fueron utilizadas para la creación del cartel del
encuentro; y, a través de los diaporamas “Procesos de urbanización insostenibles
siguiendo estrategias involutivas” y “Código Postal”,
compuestos por fotografías pertenecientes a las series del mismo título, tuve
la posibilidad de añadir mi mirada sobre algunos de los sistemas y procesos más
flagrantes de invisibilización que continúan desarrollándose con excesiva “tolerancia”
en nuestras modernas sociedades.

were used to make the poster of the event; and, through the diaporamas “Unsustainable processes of urbanization
following regressive strategies” and “Postcode”, made up with
photographs from the same title series, I had the chance to add my vision of
some of the most blatant systems and processes of invisibilization that keep on
developing with too much “tolerance” in our modern societies.
Pero, sobre todo, pude
conocer y aprender con tod+s aquell+s que se acercaron al BAT y aportaron muchas
otras interesantes experiencias, ideas, opiniones y proyectos sobre la ciudad
compleja, tanto la que se da por supuesta como sobre la más invisible.

But, mainly, I had the possibility to know
and learn with all those people that tool part in BAT and contributed so many
other interesting experiences, ideas, thoughts and projects about the complex
city, the more invisible too.
