Postcode 4 propose a mapping
of inclusion/exclusion territories, a geography of the city in which the
habitability units are shown as a projection of the urban development. Images
made of documentary photographs of temporary homes and drawings and maps from
the buildings, places and/or streets where those photographs were taken; images
that present the duality in/out from various perspectives:
- Intimacy/Extimacy: the establishment of temporary shelters
that provide a very fragile privacy in public spaces relates to the bodies and
control practices in the urban space.
- Citizenship/Segregation: the postcode, an essential
tool to get access to the condition of inhabitant/resident, expresses the
privatization of the public space and the creation of social exclusion.
- Spatiality/Virtualization: the dematerialised home is confronted with the sign (the drawing/map)
The project Postcode is a work in progress
initiated in 2012 that researches into the reality and fiction of the discourse
produced by the post-capitalist societies.
