No suelo enviar trabajos a premios y/o concursos de fotografía, mas que nada por la arbitrariedad de los mismos y la sempiterna “sensación” de enviar trabajos que han de gustar “a los otros” mas que a uno mismo, lo que redunda habitualmente en pequeñas frustraciones y disquisiciones sobre la “idoneidad” del trabajo de uno de cara a ser aceptado por l+s demás.
Pero, a veces, la temática del premio/concurso parece estar “hecha a propósito” y, simplemente, se adecua a lo que es tu trabajo habitual, y allí que te animas.
Ocasionalmente, muy ocasionalmente, alguna de esas fotografías “a concurso” obtienen un pequeño reconocimiento; no ya un premio, simplemente una mención, y eso es mas que suficiente para “darse una pequeña alegría”.
Eso es precisamente, lo que ha sucedido con algunas de las imágenes que envié a “Lens Culture: Street Photography Awards 2020”; un par de ellas han sido seleccionadas para formar parte de la “Galería de la Competición, un grupo de imágenes especialmente comisariadas, seleccionadas por los editores para mostrar solamente las mejores fotografías participantes”.
I don´t normally send photos and works to awards and/or photographic competitions, especially beacause of the randomness and the everlasting “feeling” of sending photographs that have to “like other people” more than do it oneself; which eventually results in little frustrations and disquisitions on the “adequacy” of one`s work to be “accepted” by other people.
But, sometimes, the themes of the award/competition fit together seemlessly, as if it was made on purpose; so that, there you go.
Occasionally, once in a while, some of those photographs achieved a small recognition, not a prize, just a simple mention, and that's more than enough to “give oneself a treat”.
That is exactly what have happened with some of the photographs sent to “Lens Culture: Street Photography Awards 2020”; a couple of them have been selected to form part of “the Competition Gallery, a highly curated group of images selected by editors to showcase only the best photos from entrants”

And so, I post here the images sent to the competition, being the firsts two the ones selected for “the Gallery Competition”.
